Security and protection of personal data

This tool is provided free of charge. The tool is based on information derived from the firm’s professional analysis of GDPR compliance. However, as compliance is a dynamic process and each situation is unique, the information provided must be adapted and cannot under any circumstances be considered exhaustive or accurate.

Unless you request a review and validation by the Firm, the document generated is considered to be for information purposes only. Consequently, you are solely responsible for the interpretation of the information provided, the advice you derive from it, and any adjustments made to your own business activities. The use and exploitation of the tool is therefore at your sole responsibility and risk.

Definitions

The Publisher: The natural or legal person who publishes the online communication services to the public.

The Site: All of the websites, web pages, and online services offered by the Publisher.

The User: The person using the Site and the services.

Nature of the data collected

When you use the Sites, the Publisher may collect the following categories of data about you:

If you connect your account to an account with another service in order to cross-post, that service may provide us with your profile information, login information, and any other information you have authorized to be disclosed. We may aggregate information about all of our other Users, groups, accounts, and personal data available about the User.

In accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL, the maximum retention period for cookies is 13 months after they are first placed on the User’s device, as is the period of validity of the User’s consent to the use of these cookies. The lifetime of cookies is not extended with each visit. The User’s consent must therefore be renewed at the end of this period.

Purpose of cookies

Cookies may be used for statistical purposes, in particular to optimize the services provided to the User, based on the processing of information concerning the frequency of access, the personalization of pages, and the operations carried out and the information consulted.

You are informed that the Publisher may place cookies on your device. The cookie records information relating to your browsing on the service (the pages you have visited, the date and time of your visit, etc.) that we can read during your subsequent visits.

For security reasons, if you have not logged in to the Site for a period of three years, you will receive an email inviting you to log in as soon as possible, otherwise your data will be deleted from our databases.

The User may delete their Account at any time by simply requesting this from the Publisher OR via the Account deletion menu in the Account settings, where applicable.

In the event of a breach of one or more provisions of the Terms of Use or any other document incorporated herein by reference, the Publisher reserves the right to terminate or restrict, without prior notice and at its sole discretion, your use of and access to the services, your account, and all Sites.

Informing the User in the event of a security breach

We undertake to implement all appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure a level of security appropriate to the risks of accidental, unauthorized, or illegal access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or destruction of your personal data. In the event that we become aware of illegal access to your personal data stored on our servers or those of our service providers, or unauthorized access resulting in the realization of the risks identified above, we undertake to:

  • Investigate the causes of the incident and inform you of them;
  • Take reasonable measures to mitigate the negative effects and damage that may result from the incident.

Limitation of liability

Under no circumstances may the commitments set out in the above point relating to notification in the event of a security breach be construed as any acknowledgment of fault or liability for the occurrence of the incident in question.

Modification of the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

In the event of a modification of these Terms of Use, we undertake not to substantially reduce the level of confidentiality without prior notification to the persons concerned.

We undertake to inform you in the event of a substantial modification of these Terms of Use, and not to substantially reduce the level of confidentiality of your data without informing you and obtaining your consent.
